selected works > Shaker Crates

As a maker, I often contemplate how our processes, materials, and objects can come to embody, represent, and manifest our values and spirituality. These recent crates I created were in reaction to the collection of shaker objects from the Fruitlands Museum collection. They symbolize the refined aesthetics, craft, and utility of the Shakers endeavors while also representing the commerce and visual culture shared between the Shaker Communities and outside world.
